This spring we officially entered the world of weekend competitive sports.
We talked about playing soccer for a month before her games started, so H was ready when the first game finally arrived. Mommy has a hard time saying "no" and ended up being the head coach.
The first game was all about getting it figured out. H was playing in a league with mostly 5 year olds so she was a smaller and timid to start.
The next few games went great. She'd get in the mix and really go after kicking the ball.
The final few games... we won't dwell on those. Basically the dandelions had finally bloomed and all interest in the sport was lost on the pretty yellow flowers and asking, "do we get our snack yet!?!?"
The girls got to pick our team name... we were the "Pink Sharks!" It was such a fun season and I was lucky to coach a really nice and polite group of girls!
Papa thought it was funny to put his KU hat on Crew!
"Coach Mommy!" as H would call me.
We had an extra team jersey to Q was thrilled that she got one too. She would warm up with us before every game.
H had a very hard time grasping the concept of "her goal". She would get a lead kicking the ball and just keep going. We have several photos where I'm running, pointing, and yelling, "Harper, the other way!!!" But she was being aggressive and it was pretty cute!

Go H & Coach Mommy!
